If you’re reading this, you are considering getting a Metal Building. We want to help you in this process, that’s why we’ll like to give you a bit of information so you can make the best decision at the time you acquire one.

The first thing you need to know is the parts that make up your Metal Building. We have the roof, sidewalls, and end walls. When our salesman asks you for detail on these sections, you need to be able to visualize your building and avoid making mistakes.

The next step is to define what type of roof style you want. As you might see in the image below, there are two different types of roofs that metal buildings use. One is the gable slope and the other is the single slope. You need to choose based entirely on what you like.

When we decide if a building is Open or Close, we define if it will have walls. For example, in Open buildings, there are no walls, just a roof. These types of structures are usually used as a parking lot, for a sports field, etc.

On the other side, a Close building includes all its walls and is the most common. Its uses depend on the customer. Many projects have been for garages, warehouses, churches, and more.

In some rare cases, customers ask for impartial buildings, which means they decide to have walls and open spaces.

Then we need to define is our Roof Slope, which means its inclinations. Each of our roof styles has a limitation with it, this is mainly to take care of your panels, so you need to consider it. The most common slopes our customers use are 3:12, 1/2:12, and 1/4:12.

If you want windows or doors, you are talking of the Openings of the building. Our sales team will mention and show you some of the measurements for each window, door, and roll-up door that we carry. You must tell them all the openings that you need and where you want them, our engineering team will scan all the information and leave the space for it in your building.

Once you define the openings of your building comes the complements, this is what makes a visual change on your structure. There are many things you could add like a lean, extensions, and many other options. If you want to learn more about them, check out our next blog!
